Farmer's Market

I ran out to do some errands today and passed by a local farmer's market. On a whim, I decided to stop and stock up on some produce. While I was there, a woman turned before the intersection and drove straight through a fence into the market area. It was really loud and frightening, but luckily no one was hurt. I ended up calling 911 since no one else did. After a little bit of excitement, I was able to purchase my produce and head home!

Check out all of this fruit!

I also got some red peppers, lemons, and limes. :)

And blueberries, strawberries, and watermelon.

Yum, yum, yum! For only $22, I got a ton of fresh produce!

San Francisco, Day 5

Today was our last day in San Francisco. Boo hoo! Luckily, Peter didn't have anything to attend for WWDC so we headed to Fisherman's Wharf for the day!

Me and my hunny at Fisherman's Wharf :)

Nothing but blue skies today!

At the suggestion of our friend Dave, we decided to make In-N-Out our lunch spot for the day.

We'd never been to In-N-Out before so we were hoping that it was going to be good!

And it was! It was super crowded since it was lunchtime on a Friday. Once I spotted an open table, I ran over to grab it so that when Peter got the food, we'd have a place to sit. We both got burgers, fries, and a shake! Yum, yum, and yum!

We realized that we could've shared a thing of fries, but other than that, we devoured every bite!

We then spent some time just walking around and enjoying our last day in San Francisco.

We're getting pretty good at these self shots! The fact that the viewfinder can turn around so that we can see ourselves really helps. :P

The water was so pretty to look at, but was probably freezing cold.

I loved sitting and just looking at the Golden Gate Bridge in the background. We sat for a while just soaking in the fresh air and sunshine. We also did some people watching which is always fun!

Two peas in a pod:

Oh, and we can be normal, too.....sometimes.

I love sailboats. I've never been sailing, but I always love to take pictures of them. Maybe someday I'll actually go sailing.

Me enjoying our last day in SF:

We saw this guy and could not stop laughing at his hat. We joked for a while how this would be Peter or Andrew when they got older. I told Peter that if it was him, that I'd never let him get a hat like that! haha

My handsome man:

This kid was playing the trumpet and was super good! It was like a free little jazz concert.

Mmm...candy!

I didn't buy any candy, but it was fun to stop in and take some pictures.

We also went down to Pier 39 to see the sea lions and watch some street performers.

Me again :)

At the pier:

We didn't actually go down onto the pier because it was super crowded. The area that we were at didn't have any people and we could see just as well. :)

We too the walk up to North Beach area where there are a bunch of great restaurants. We made reservations at Pinocchio's. Our waiter at Zingari the other night had suggested it. Unfortunately for me, I ended up not liking my dinner at all. :( Peter, the sweetheart that he is, tried to make it better by ordering dessert for me when I was in the bathroom. He ordered tiramisu, which I don't like haha. It has the ladyfingers that are soaked in espresso and I'm not a fan of coffees at all. He didn't know! He heard the waiter say chocolate so he thought of me. The tiramisu was actually not too bad. The espresso wasn't too overbearing of a flavor so it was actually the best I've had. I didn't eat the whole thing, but it really wasn't bad. I'm sure those who like tiramisu would've actually loved it!

We stopped at some local souvenir shops and I got Ashley a mug and myself an I <3>

I can't believe our time in SF is coming to an end. We're super sad about it, but thankful to have had the chance to come back. It's really one of the major perks to Peter's job and I'm glad that I was able to get a break from work and join him!

San Francisco, Day 4 - part 2!

We stopped at Grace Cathedral today on the way home from the Botanical Gardens. It was fun to get to see the inside of the church!

There was a giant labyrinth at the entrance to the cathedral. It's supposed to help you focus and meditate. Peter and I tried it, but after about 2 minutes, I was done! There were too many people doing it at once and I got dizzy so I stopped.

I love stained glass windows. They're just so beautiful, especially when the sun hits them.

The archways in this church were also beautiful.

More beautiful stained glass:

This is a bit hard to see, but this was a nativity they had set up behind glass. I just love nativity scenes.

An opened bible:

I think this was a holy water basin.

I love the character that comes with old churches.

I thought this was a cool shot looking down one of the sides of the cathedral.

Peter had an early evening session to go to, as well as a concert this evening That meant it was just me for dinner. I didn't mind though sin e I got to spend all morning and some of the afternoon with him! Plus, WWDC is the entire reason for the visit anyways!

I watched some TV and lounged around the hotel room until I was left to decide what to do for dinner. The Chicken Marsala from Pucinni & Pinetti on the first night was so delicious that I decided to order room service and have it again! I should've taken a picture of it, but it was so yummy that I gobbled it down before thinking about it! I think I did post a picture from the first time I had it though.

I decided to totally veg out in the hotel this evening. Have I mentioned that I'm loving this break from work?! Because I am! I also like not being at home because if I were there, I'd probably be cleaning or something haha.

San Francisco, Day 4

Today Peter had nothing to do all morning so we took advantage of it by planning a trip to the San Francisco Botanical Gardens! Since the passes we bought for the cable cars also work on the trains/buses, it didn't cost us anything to get there! The gardens are also free to get into before 10 AM so we decided to get there in time for free admittance.

We grabbed Starbucks in the morning before the train and had our breakfast on the train. Nothing like an iced chai and banana chocolate chip muffin to start the morning!

My and my hunny :)

It was a beautiful morning and so lovely to spend it walking around the gardens with my love. The only downer was a call from work for me that I had to deal with. It wasn't bad though since it was my co-worker asking for help.

Ahhh....so refreshing!

I love this guy! :)

Here's a bunch of pictures from the SF Botanical Gardens:

Cool shot of a spider's web that Peter took.

Peter is so silly and is always so much fun to be with. He makes me laugh all the time, and I just love that about him!

Cool bamboo structure:

We saw this women outside of the Japanese Gardens, but didn't know if she worked at the gardens, or was just hanging out there? We think it was the latter...

This thing was so weird. It unrolled on the plants. We called this the hairy legged plant. Who knows what it really is??

The squirrels must be used to being fed by visitors because they weren't shy at all! I think they could've actually used a little dose of healthy fear!

My handsome hubby:

More beautiful shots from the gardens...

The flowers were so pretty. They were all in bloom and so colorful!

We sat at the pond area for a while and watching the ducks and geese.

Love this cute bench. We would've sat on it if it wasn't covered in geese poop!

Peter did a great job capturing a photo of this little guy:

More beautiful flowers:

After the gardens, we headed to grab some lunch. We decided to also stop at the cathedral on the way back as well. (Separate post to follow...)
